Charles Hewitt was born in Polesworth England on the 19th of September 1819
He was the elder brother of Thomas Hewitt who also came to NZ on the Cressey with his wife Emma Hewitt nee Wood
Charles Hewitt died in NZ in 1870

A son of Thomas and Emma Hewitt, William Edward Nivingsen, is buried in Waddington Cemetery.
