Mrs Mary Anderson, nee Dixon, migrated to Canterbury with her family when she was eight (see Mrs S Kingsbury).

Readers' response:
A family member has confirmed that this is Mrs James Anderson nee Mary Dixon (November 22, 1841-August 12, 1903). Mary married James Anderson (1838-1926), from Scotland, on January 5, 1869.1 

The couple lived in Marshmans Road, Ashley. Mary and James had 11 children − Alexander (August 16, 1870-November 15, 1904), Hester and Eliza (twins born January 30, 1874, but who lived only two weeks), Bertha (b. March 19, 1877), Ethol (April 26, 1880-March 27, 1912), Mary Syme (July 20, 1882-October 5, 1918), James (November 29, 1885-October 28, 1908), Raymond (d. March 20, 1913), Selwun Alick (d. March 21, 1918), Margaret Doreen (d. October 18, 1921) and Elsie Barker (b. October 14, 1887).

After Mary’s death in 1903, James married Sarah Culliford.2
