Mary Harper (nee Bennington)
The Randolph

Original information:
This is Mary Bennington (5). John and Ann Bennington migrated with five children under five. They settled in Lyttelton, where John set up as a boot and shoemaker. Mary went to the infant school in Lyttelton in 1852.

In 1864 she married Robert Sizeland Harper, who came to New Zealand from Norfolk in 1855 to join his two brothers, John and James, in Kaiapoi.

They settled on a farm on the main road in a house made of pit-sawn timber. Their property later became Blue Skies Scout Camp. Robert and Mary had nine children.
